One Spark Is All It Takes

Matthew 15:14-15 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; "Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house."

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Psalms 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path."

Luke 11:33-35"No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. "The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. "Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.

Autumns Candlestick

There once was a girl named Autumn

Her leaves fell in the fall

God held her in his mighty hands

Each time that on him she would call

She felt as if she wasn't special

She was a sinner to say the least

Lost and caught up in this world

A world centered around "The Beast"

She read The Word Of God

She even read scriptures all the time

She knew all the stories so well

That she had them memorized

She walked the walk, she talked the talk

So, she thought that she was fine

Something great was missing, though

Till God lit something inside

When God had created her

He put a candlestick inside her

She did not know he had put it there

Until he lit the flick with Fire

When God designed Autumn

Who's leaves fall in the fall

He knew all those in life that she would encounter

But he knew her above them all

He went before her, knowing

The trials she would endure

He already knew her life's purpose

He knew all the reasons, he created her for

He knew every thought that filled her mind

He knew every person she'd be effected by

He also knew the exact time

When he would lite the fire, that lived inside

In Heaven above, God watched proudly, as a father would,

As that fire within her began to flame

And suddenly all those who she'd encounter, well,

Those lives would also change

Soon, Autumn, began to feel different

As the flame just grew and grew

And when she discovered who put it there

She knew what she had to do

She opened up her bible, as she hugged it

Holding it close up to heart

She sent a prayer to Heaven, as if suddenly she knew

That she was special to someone,

And that fire just grew and grew

Autumn had always been loved and special To God

So she ran into his open arms in joyful tears

Then as she gave him everything, her hopes, her dreams, her fear...

God whispered ever so gently, "I love you." In her ears.

The God who calls her beautiful

The maker of mankind

He created her, loved her, knew her,

When he put that candlestick inside

Even when she thought she was nothing special

To God, she was the whole time

And Oh, how happy God was

When her time had come to shine

There is a girl named Autumn

Her leaves still fall only in the fall

And inside her lives a gleaming candlestick

God's best little secret, within us all

When we are created, God makes us with more just a physical body. He also puts in us a spirit and our soul. Many times in life, we find ourselves wondering, What does my life mean? What is my purpose? How can I make an impact on people that will matter? Is there anything about me that is special? Why am I even here?

We are not all destined to be presidents, famous singers or actresses. We can not all travel across the world preaching as missionaries to the lost. The majority of us, we just barely scrape by everyday, we are pretty average. People like us, well, we are stay at home moms, or hard working dads, maybe a single parent who doesn't have enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done. We are people who fall into this pattern of the same old routine, accomplishing a little at a time, leaving us all wondering to ourselves, Is this it? Is this all my destiny holds for me?

Your destiny, purpose, the meaning of your life, it may not influence 1000 people at time, but that you still can make a difference that matters. Most of the time, for me, it's not my idols that give me the warm loving feelings that I always take around with me, those feelings come from my mom, my husband, my close friends and family. They influence me the most and they seem to be just as ordinary as me. They are more special to me than any celebrity ever could be. This is where the light inside them comes into play...

I believe God made us so that we can be a light to others. All it takes is a small flicker to start a whole fire. That's how our faith spreads throughout the world. The way you feel and show that to others, that's the light inside you. Many times when the people around you see it, they then can feel it, and so it spreads.

Prayer For Today

Heavenly Father,

I pray today that you will use me to be a light unto others. I pray you open my heart and eyes to the amazing life I have right in front of me. I believe my future is bright and that all your ways are right. I hope people feel the love you have for me and I have for you, in their hearts too.
