Why We Need God's Holy Spirit in the Church

The Importance of the Holy Spirit: The Power of a Godly Church in Today's Generation

Follow His Spirit

She grew up in the same church
She memorized Scriptures
She believed In Jesus Christ
And she was baptized at Eight

As she grew up and became an adult
Suddenly she found herself drifting away
She didn't do it on purpose, but life is so busy
Making time for God was Hard
And her heart, began to fade

But the lord woke her up
She fell into Satan's trap
And God was right there
He lifted her up
From the Hole she was being buried in.
And she realized God would rescue her
She didn't have to be perfect
She was very far from obedience
But Jesus planted a seed in her
When she was eight years old
It was his holy spirit and as she changed
Her life began to change
And her faith began to grow

She became thirsty for God's word
She wanted to be more like him in
Every way she could.
She wasn't suddenly righteous
In fact, she realized the opposite
That all of us are carnal and sinful
And I am sorry but that is a fact

As she began to cherish her soul,
She began to cherish everything else around her.
But when she went back to the church
She realized It wasn't the church for her
Try and be Faithful to the church
Her whole family attended every week
But as she really begin to study
So many questions filled her heart
God says Seek and you will find
But I began to feel draining again

The pastors there were all men
But when she would listen to their sermons
She couldn't quite understand
For the things she had studied
They just were not adding up
This particular church Did not believe
That God's Holy Spirit still worked

When she realized this
She sought out council
So many questions
But never where they answered
As a woman she was to believe
Listen and obey. But the longer She stayed
The emptier she felt.
She felt sad, she felt misunderstood
She felt like it was time to get out of this box
And find a place that was a good fit for her.

She searched and she searched and searched
As she began to give up, she thought to herself
Okay Lord, one more time.
She didn't want a cookie cutter church.
And as she walked through that door.
She could just fill it. All around her. She had found it
A church meant for her
A church that wanted to answer all her questions
A church that believed every word of God is true.
It is not about interpretation
It's about finding and seeking the truth

So she is still growing, temptations are still there
But her friends are encouraging her to just keep pushing on.
In her heart and mind, she was still so sad
All she wanted was to let her family understand what's true
Because God's Holy Spirit will abide in us all of our days
So, she must walk carefully in all her ways
Not by starting arguments and frustration
But to show them that it's all said in truth and love
We are still living in prophecy
Jesus will come back at some point
We need his spirit, the fruits, the Armor, the gifts.
Not because we are afraid of death
Not because we think we have everything right
But so we can be ready when he comes back.
Life or Death, either way is everlasting
But don't you want to be filled when
Jesus Comes For you?

She loves the Lord, her whole family, all both the churches,
Not because they are perfect but because God showed her,
He loved her first.

In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, the importance of a Godly, Holy Spirit-filled church cannot be overstated. The presence of the Holy Spirit in a church is what sets it apart from any other gathering. It is the driving force behind all that is done within its walls, guiding and empowering believers to live out their faith in a way that glorifies God. In this blog post, we will explore the significance of a Spirit-filled church in today's generation and how the Holy Spirit continues to work in miraculous ways.

The Role of the Holy Spirit in the Church:
The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in the life of a church. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells his disciples, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." This power that comes from the Holy Spirit is what enables believers to boldly proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations. Without the Holy Spirit, the church would be powerless and ineffective in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Furthermore, the Holy Spirit is the one who unites believers in Christ, creating a sense of community and fellowship that is essential for spiritual growth. In 1 Corinthians 12:13, Paul writes, "For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink." The Holy Spirit breaks down barriers and brings people together in a way that transcends human understanding. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that the church is able to function as the body of Christ, with each member playing a unique and important role.

The Manifestation of the Holy Spirit in Today's Church:

Many people may question whether the Holy Spirit still works in the same way today as it did in the early church. The answer is a resounding yes. The Holy Spirit is just as active and powerful today as it was in the days of the apostles.

John 14:12-14
“I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. [Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."

1st Chrointhians 12

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
"Christian brothers, I want you to know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. You need to understand the truth about this. 2 You know that before you were Christians you were led to worship false gods. None of these gods could speak. 3 So I tell you that no one speaking by the help of the Holy Spirit can say that he hates Jesus. No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Kinds of Gifts
4 There are different kinds of gifts. But it is the same Holy Spirit Who gives them. 5 There are different kinds of work to be done for Him. But the work is for the same Lord. 6 There are different ways of doing His work. But it is the same God who uses all these ways in all people. 7 The Holy Spirit works in each person in one way or another for the good of all. 8 One person is given the gift of teaching words of wisdom. Another person is given the gift of teaching what he has learned and knows. These gifts are by the same Holy Spirit. 9 One person receives the gift of faith. Another person receives the gifts of healing. These gifts are given by the same Holy Spirit. 10 One person is given the gift of doing powerful works. Another person is given the gift of speaking God’s Word. Another person is given the gift of telling the difference between the Holy Spirit and false spirits. Another person is given the gift of speaking in special sounds. Another person is given the gift of telling what these special sounds mean. 11 But it is the same Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, Who does all these things. He gives to each person as He wants to give.

Our Body Is Like the Body of Christ

12 Our own body has many parts. When all these many parts are put together, they are only one body. The body of Christ is like this. 13 It is the same way with us. Jews or those who are not Jews, men who are owned by someone or men who are free to do what they want to do, have all been baptized into the one body by the same Holy Spirit. We have all received the one Spirit.
14 The body is not one part, but many parts. 15 If the foot should say, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that would not stop it from being a part of the body. 16 If the ear should say, “I am not a part of the body because I am not an eye,” that would not stop it from being a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye how would it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how would it smell? 18 But God has put all the parts into the body just as He wants to have them. 19 If all the parts were the same, it could not be a body. 20 But now there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Or the head cannot say to the feet, “I do not need you.” 22 Some of the parts we think are weak and not important are very important. 23 We take good care of and cover with clothes the parts of the body that look less important. The parts which do not look beautiful have an important work to do. 24 The parts that can be seen do not need as much care. God has made the body so more care is given to the parts that need it most. 25 This is so the body will not be divided into parts. All the parts care for each other. 26 If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it. If one part is given special care, the other parts are happy.

The Body of Christ
27 You are all a part of the body of Christ. 28 God has chosen different ones in the church to do His work. First, there are missionaries. Second, there are preachers or those who speak for God. And third, there are teachers. He has also chosen those who do powerful works and those who have the gifts of healing. And He has chosen those who help others who are in need and those who are able to lead others in work and those who speak in special sounds. 29 Are they all missionaries? No. Are they all preachers or those who speak for God? No. Do they all do powerful works? No. 30 Do they all have the gifts of healing? No. Do they all speak in special sounds? No. Are they all able to tell what the special sounds mean? No. 31 But from your heart you should want the best gifts. Now I will show you even a better way."
