Romans 12:9 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves."
Mark 12:29-31 "The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times."
1st John 4:11 "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
1st John 4:21 "And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister."
1st Corinthians 16:14 "Do everything in love."
1st John 4:19 "We love because he first loved us."
When the thought counts
So many thoughts
Run through my mind
I think good thoughts and bad thoughts
But they are all mine
When I see something intriguing
Or I hear a new something
Maybe, I feel an emotion
Sometimes it lights a thought
Or it does nothing
I wonder sometimes
Why we have so many thoughts
Why are some of them bad?
And why are some of them not?
I have tried to control
These thoughts in my mind
Sometimes it's more than one thought
Like, I'll have two at a time
Have you ever done something
For someone else
Because you felt bad for them?
Or maybe even yourself?
Even in hard times
God may light a spark
That says, "Go do this"
And an idea, fills my heart
So I go do what he says
Well, I at least do my best
When I know someone's struggling
Or My friend's in distress
I have many thoughts on how
I may help fix their mess
But then their our times
I can only just Pray
And I let God do the rest

The scriptures above are all about love. I believe thoughts that we have are connected most of the time to what we feel. So I added scriptures on love to show you what God thinks about love and loving others because how we think and our thoughts in general are in many situations not completely under our control, and so it is vital we learn how to control our actions when we base them from a thought that we may have. And we need to always have love to fill our hearts, that way, our heart and our mind may be on the same page.
It's unfortunate that the thoughts that run through our head everyday are mixtures of good ones, and bad ones. Many people try to rid themselves of the bad thoughts by focusing on the good ones instead. It works well, but some of the things we happen to think about overwhelm us and lead us to a bad action out of pure rationality. So what should we do...?
Ever heard of the saying..."What would Jesus do?" Well when you do something, anything really, it is often times because it required a thought to bring about an action. So you have to decide...Do I do what I think is best? Or Do I do what God thinks is best...?

Controlling your own thoughts is well, impossible, I don't care what you think or heard before, you are going to run across times, when you think something bad. It is going to happen...so I am not going to lie to you, it is no doubt inevitable. The good news is though, that putting God first and thinking out and considering the best option or thought in your mind to fit what you believe God has in mind, can help your actions be rewarding for you, your spirit, mind, body, and soul. Other's too, by the way.
(Food for thought) Think before you speak. Control your actions by following the Godly thought in your mind instead of the evil one that pursues you otherwise. Remember you have a devil on one of your shoulders, and Jesus on the other...But you will never go wrong on choosing Jesus over Satan... Why? Because we already know, Jesus wins every time.
Prayer For Today
Heavenly Father Who Art In Heaven,
I come to you today, with a heart full of love, I love today because you have always loved me and so i try to do my best to return that love. If a bad thought runs through my mind today help me fight it and always remember that when in doubt, think "What would Jesus Do?" Then I can act on that. I am so blessed to have your Word, and know all about the history of you and of what all you have done for me through Christ Jesus. I am grateful you know what is best in every situation I encounter.
In Jesus Christ Holy Name, Amen
